What is the Level 3 First Aid at Work Course:

The Level 3 First Aid At Work course is more advanced than the basic 1 day EFAW training. Designed to ensure that on successful completion of the course delegates are trained first aiders in the workplace in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

If an employer has identified that first-aiders are needed in their workplace, they must ensure that those identified to be first aiders undertake training appropriate to the need.

This course provides comprehensive set of practical skills needed to become a confident first aider at work, giving you both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies.

Core Units

Level 3 First Aid course is divided into several units:

1. The roles and responsibilities of a first aider
2. How to assess an incident and conduct a secondary survey
3. How to assess an unresponsive casualty
4. How to manage a casualty who is bleeding (severe and minor) or in shock
5. How to manage a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints or with suspected head, spinal injuries and/or chest injuries
6. Seizures, choking, fainting and asthma
7. Burns, scalds and poisoning
8. Eye injury
9. Low blood sugar and severe allergic reactions

Entry Requirements

A good understanding of reading, spoken and written English. Please note that this course is only conducted in English and therefore it is paramount that’s students are able to communicate in English. Please feel free to contact us if you have any concerns.

Course Materials

All course materials are provided for the training course.

Assessment

Students must attend all sessions of the First Aid training course.

This is a very interactive course and students are assessed daily throughout undertaking individual and group exercises, case studies and there is a multiple choice test on the final day of the course.

Qualification & Renewal          

Students are awarded the First Aid at Work  Level 3 Qualification Certificate & Card

The qualification is valid for 3 years, after which students will need to undertake a 2 day First Aid at Work Requalification course to maintain the qualification for a further 3 years.

Our course tutors are qualified and experienced health and safety professionals, with extensive experience in First Aid, Health & Safety, Construction and Risk Management.

All our Trainers hold numerous appropriate First Aid and health and safety qualifications such as a NEBOSH General Certificate, and the NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety which is the leading Health & Safety Award in the Construction Industry.

Additionally, all our Trainers hold teaching qualifications which is a minimum Level 5 which is well above the required industry standard to ensure that we deliver Training of the highest Standard.
